Recently Sr.Catherine and Sr.Christine travelled to Perth where they stayed for a few days with the Sisters of St. Joseph who provided warm hospitality. During their stay they were engaged in doing some vocational promotion and also attended to some other matters. There was a good response by the young people of Perth and a few showed great interest towards the life and mission of our particular vocation and charism. We trust that the seed planted will, with God’s grace, bear fruit.

The sisters were delighted to visit their friend, Archbishop Timothy Costelloe who warmly welcomed them at his office. They also met up with Archbishop Hickey and a few other priests of the Archdiocese. One young lady who is interested in our way of life, Joy was a great help to the sisters, especially in  taking time off work to accompany and show them around the beautiful city of Perth.

On the 26th of August, we had the joy of welcoming many young people to our convent for a day of prayer and reflection. The day commenced with the Eucharistic Celebration presided by Fr. Michael SSP. The theme of the day was: “Fan into a flame the gift of God’s love”. The sisters accompanied  the young people and helped to create a joyful and friendly atmosphere which they all enjoyed. There was ample time for fellowship, prayer, reflection and sharing, the youth participated with great enthusiasm and joy. A presentation on the Founder Blessed James Alberione and the Pauline family as well as on Venerable Mother Scholastica and the life and mission of the Sister Disciple was given in the afternoon. The day concluded with Eucharsitic Adoration. The young people were very appreciative of having had the opportunity to spend this special time with the Lord and with the sisters.
